Marco Rubio’s Impossible Mission: From Retrieving Panama to Express Deportation Services!

Marco Rubio, the newly appointed U.S. Secretary of State, has landed in Panama as part of his first official voyage, with the aim of putting into practice Trump’s grandiose plans for Central America. The main objectives? Controlling migration, countering China, and of course entertaining the idea of “reclaiming” the Panama Canal! It is still unclear whether Rubio packed a suitcase full of diplomatic agreements or just a GPS to locate Panama again on the map.

Migration: Express Service for the Deportees!
The idea finally dawned on Trump and his people that to “Make America Great Again,” they have to reverse the trend of migration. How brilliant: send the migrants back to El Salvador for this really exciting new life amongst the local gangs! In other words, if someone thought he or she was running away from war and poverty, the U.S. has another but equally adventurous survival challenge waiting!

Rubio said he would visit El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele to push for an agreement that would send non-Salvadoran migrants there. The real question is: Is Bukele going to like this “special gift,” or is he going to wake up tomorrow and say, “Borders closed—forever!”

The Panama Canal: Who Does It Belong To, Again?
Next on Rubio’s agenda is the Panama Canal. Trump has been banging his fist on the table, demanding this vital waterway must revert to the United States. Problem is, nobody has any idea what he means by “once again.” Based on his reasoning, Panama may well still be noted under “U.S. territories” in some dusty map tucked away in Mar-a-Lago.

But Panama’s President, José Raúl Mulino, was ready with a poetic response: “The soul of a nation is not up for negotiation.” Nobody’s quite sure whether this was some sort of profound historical reference or just a nice way of saying, “No chance, buddy!” Anyway, Rubio will be visiting the canal, likely hoping his piercing stare will be enough to have Panamanian officials hand over the keys.

China: The Cause of All U.S. Worries!
Apart from the immigration problems and the Panama escapade, Rubio has one more essential task at hand: containing China! It would appear that with trade and infrastructure, the U.S. reaches a state of hysteria and yells that “something must be done.”

In two decades, China has silently built up its trade with Latin America from $10 billion to $450 billion. And now, the U.S. realizes that these countries could be “drifting away!” Rubio’s trip to Guatemala forms part of this effort since Guatemala is one of the few remaining Latin American countries that still have diplomatic relations with Taiwan. The U.S. wants Guatemala to continue to resist while the rest of the region is reaching out with open arms for China’s trade deals.

Veredicto Final: Misión Impossible or Just a Vacation?
At the end, this journey is a huge test of Rubio’s diplomacy and Trump’s policies. Will he manage to stop migration, push China back, reclaim the Panama Canal, and perhaps even snap a few victory selfies? Or will he return to Washington with a long list of firm “No’s” from various world leaders? One thing is certain: whether anything actually happens or not, Trump’s team knows how to turn any trip into a Hollywood-level drama, if not in real life, then at least in a series of fiery tweets.
